While the extended, all-day tickets cost more than the half-day tickets, the price difference is relatively small. Morning session tickets that are good from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm are also available. to 10 pm night skiing session, and if you prefer skiing the whole day, it doesn't cost much more to get an extended ticket that allows for all-day admission. In addition to being able to make snow, the Elk Mountain Ski Resort can illuminate much of its terrain. The resort averages about five feet of the natural stuff on a yearly basis and can cover most of its terrain with manmade snow when Mother Nature isn't cooperating. Accentuating the Elk Mountain skiing and snowboarding experience is the fact that good snow is almost always on hand. The base of the Elk Mountain Ski Resort is 1,693 feet, and when you subtract that from the top elevation, the result is a relatively impressive 1,000-foot vertical drop. Visitors can roam across 140 total skiable acres, and high-speed lifts are in place to get them to any number of starting points. There should definitely be online booking, especially with COVID.Elk Mountain skiing and snowboarding is some of the best skiing and snowboarding in all of Pennsylvania. I called now at 5 pm and I was told that three hours wait time MUST HAVE BEEN an “exaggeration” even though I was clearly told that earlier on in the day. As much as he loves snowboarding, we decided to try to do something else because $80 + tax is steep to wait in line for three hours is steep, with only a couple hours of daylight left for a newcomer. After waiting thirty minutes in line for the ski school, I was told there were no more ski lessons available until 5:45 pm and rentals had a 3 and a half hour wait, with all other local rentals being fully booked. You apparently have to wait at the ski school part of the lodge for those tickets. The options are listed before you, including a “first time” package which I was interested in to learn the ins and outs of skiing. Once we got there, there was a long wait to even buy your lift ticket. I am not an avid skier by any means, I was visiting from florida and my boyfriend and I tried to visit. In the event you’re not familiar with the layout of EA’s NCAA Football 2014 it comes straight from the package (or download) with no names on every school’s roster, purely numbers. The fact of the matter is, EA Sports stopped producing the heralded gaming series after the 2014 edition of NCAA Football. There are some great articles covering in great detail the how and why behind EA’s decision to discontinue this game. I’m not going to participate in matters of opinion or conjecture related to the end of the NCAA Football franchise by EA Sports. But I feel like I’ve earned the right to make such jest, as someone who is Blessed enough to call themselves part of the team with these men, and moreover a friend. I'd also like to add a roof rack and the air conditioner might get in the way. I'm a bit mixed about removing the air condition unit and could use your thoughts on whether to keep it or replace it with a vent. It doesn't get that hot in San Francisco but we may travel to hotter spots in the future. I'm thinking about just adding in a new vent for ventilation as well as adding windows that open in the middle of the van. If Chrome keeps freezing even after a reset, you should fully remove the browser from your system and reinstall it. As Chrome says, this will reset everything aside from bookmarks, history, and saved passwords. Head to Menu > Settings > Advanced > Reset and clean up > Restore settings to their original defaults to use this tool. As a first step, you can use Chrome’s built-in reset function to get to a fresh state without reinstalling. If that doesn’t fix anything, you should reset or reinstall Chrome. You’ll need to set a name and profile image for it. To do this, click your profile picture to the top-right of Chrome and hit Add to create a new user. You should try creating a new browser profile to check for corruption with your current one. If your issues persist at this point, your copy of Chrome may have serious issues that cause it to keep crashing. Find the Use hardware acceleration when available toggle and change it to the opposite setting. To do so, go to Menu > Settings > Advanced. If you’re still experiencing Google Chrome freezing after trying the above fixes, you should toggle hardware acceleration and see if it makes a difference. Enabling this can help Chrome run more smoothly, but may also cause issues in some cases. Hardware acceleration is a feature that offloads heavy graphical tasks to your GPU instead of your CPU. Continue with the steps below for more troubleshooting. However, if the website loads fine in other browsers, the issue lies with Chrome. In the meantime, there are some workarounds to access sites that won’t load. You’ll need to wait for the site owners to fix the problem consider contacting the website admin via social media to let them know. If the other browser doesn’t load the page either, that specific site is probably having issues. Open another browser, like Firefox or Microsoft Edge, and see if that website gives a similar error. If Chrome is freezing only when you try to load a specific site, you should confirm whether the issue is isolated to Chrome or happens across all browsers. But you’re better off scanning with your computer’s antivirus suite, plus Malwarebytes for a more thorough check. ![]() A malicious program could mess with your browser’s security or network settings and cause connection problems.Ĭhrome has a basic built-in malware scanner. While not all Chrome crashing issues are caused by malware, it’s worth ruling out before you proceed. Disable them one by one until you locate the culprit. ![]() As a result, browsing while incognito makes it easier to determine if an extension is what’s causing Chrome to freeze or crash. By default, extensions can’t run in incognito windows. If you have a lot of extensions and don’t want to disable them all manually, try opening an incognito window at Menu > New incognito window, or with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + N. See our guide to managing browser extensions for advice. Having too many extensions can bog down your browser, while malicious extensions can interfere with Chrome’s normal operation. Disable or remove anything that you don’t actively use. You should next check your installed extensions on the Menu > More tools > Extensions page. If the first steps above didn’t clear up your problem, continue on to some further troubleshooting methods. Google Chrome Keeps Freezing: Advanced Fixes New versions can patch up bugs, including those that affect memory usage. As you probably know, rebooting fixes a lot of issues, and could clear up any temporary quirks with Chrome.įinally, it’s a good idea to check for Chrome updates at Menu > Help > About Google Chrome. If none of the above fixes seem to work, you should restart your computer. This will give you a breakdown of everything running in Chrome so you can close the heaviest users. To help with this, press Shift + Esc to open Chrome’s task manager. Try closing all tabs you’re not using, pausing any Chrome downloads, and quitting any unnecessary programs running on your computer. If your computer is low on RAM (which is often a problem due to Chrome’s high memory usage), it may cause websites to crash. Next, you should look at how much you have open in Chrome. Here, disable Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed if you want Chrome to close completely when you click the X in its window. Choose Advanced from the left sidebar to show more settings, then click the System entry. Note that if you just click the X in the top-right corner, Chrome can continue running in the background (if you’ve enabled that option). ![]() Then reopen Chrome after a moment and see if the issue improves. To do so, click the three-dot Menu button at the top-right of Chrome and choose Exit. When Chrome starts crashing or freezing, you should first try completely restarting it. Google Chrome Keeps Crashing: Basic Troubleshooting ![]() As we are focusing on Step 1, you will see that you have the most tests to choose from. Your next very important step: Choose the right exam! Create an account if you haven’t already, and click the PURCHASE tab at the top of the screen. Thankfully, it’s much more polished and user-friendly than the former system. The old clunky NBME Self-Assessment Service (NSAS) website has been replaced with the shiny new MyNBME portal. So, this brings us to our real question: Where do I start with NBME self-assessments, and how do I use these tests as a part of my Step 1 Study Plan? These other resources can all serve a purpose (especially UWorld), but only NBME practice exams will give you assurance that you are ready to pass Step 1 and achieve your goal score. Not UWorld, not Kaplan Q-Bank, not USMLE Rx -nothing. Nothing will provide the same simulative or predictive value of an NBME practice test. Let’s not mince words: NBME self assessments are an essential part of your USMLE Step 1 preparation. Brian Radvansky contributed to this article. In my experience, the actual Step 1 exam is more similar to UWorld and the free 120 questions.Robert Meekins and Dr. This is especially true for the newer NBMEs where there is not yet well-developed answers explanations. If you don’t find a good answer online and you still can’t find one after referring to your resources, take what you can from the question and move on. Since the NBMEs don’t provide answer explanations, you’ll have the search online forums for them. NBMEs aren’t as great for learning due to the lack of detailed answers. The free 120’s that I took 2 days before my exam was the best predictor. I personally scored much higher on the real exam than I did with any of the NBMEs. However, I’m not sure if this is still true for the newer exams. NBMEs have been known to be the most accurate predictors of your score. If you do an 8-hour practice test, aim to do it at least 2-3 weeks from your exam. However, try not to do it too close to your exam (to avoid burnout). If you know this is something you’ll struggle with, then I would recommend simulating the full 8-hour exam with back-to-back NBMEs. Personally, on test day I did not struggle with stamina (except for the last block). Having studied pretty intensely for ~10 hours a day, taking an 8-hour exam is not much different. Should I take two NBMEs back-to-back to simulate an 8-hour exam? Try not to take them too close together because you may get discouraged if you don’t see a significant increase in your score. If you scheduled one each week of dedicated (starting at week 1 or 2), this would total to about 7 practice exams (5 NBMEs + 2 UWSAs) over the course of 7 weeks. Most students take 1 practice exam a week.I don’t recommend taking Kaplans or other practice exams because since they’re not superior to NBMEs/UWSA. UWSA1 slightly overpredicts and UWSA2 is generally thought to be pretty accurate. Yes! You can and should take Uworld Self Assessments (UWSA) 1 and 2.I suggest taking the newer exams (try to take all 5 new ones!) ![]() Forms 23 and 24 will be released later this spring. I took 17 and 18 when the newer ones weren’t available then took 21 and 22. Midway through my dedicated period, NBME released new practice exams (Forms 20, 21, and 22).I recommend taking your first NBME either week 1 or 2 of dedicated! Personally, I took my first NBME after I completed one pass through the material. However, you need to take one early enough in your studying to serve as your baseline score. Considering that each test costs $60, it’s not a great idea to take one when you’re not ‘ready’.Below I answered some common questions on using NBMEs for step 1 preparation. One of the best ways to gauge your progress and predict your USMLE Step 1 score is through the NBME CBSSA (Comprehensive Basic Science Self Assessment) exams. Patients with m-APACHE II ≤ 8.5 who received broad-spectrum Gram-negative antibiotics were more likely (odds=1:2) to experience healthcare-associated CDI compared to those who did not receive these broad-spectrum agents (odds=1:125) and compared to those with m-APACHE II > 8.5 irrespective of treatment (odds=5:27). Modified-APACHE II > 8.5 (P=0.003) and broad-spectrum Gram-negative antibiotic use (P=0.002) were associated with healthcare-associated CDI and were robust in multiple validity analyses. After propensity score weighting, hospital-onset (HO) CDI was significantly associated with broad-spectrum Gram-negative antibiotic use (P=0.002) as was subsequent community-onset (CO) CDI (P=0.005). Thirty-two PCR confirmed CDI cases were identified and 232 randomly selected controls were drawn from the total CAP population. It is considered to convey the hidden bitterness and depression of the maids in Han imperial palace. Han Gong Qiu Yue means “Autumn Moon Over the Han Palace”. This piece of music conveys the loneliness of the composer and self-admiration of ancient Chinese scholars. Mei Hua (Chinese language) is plum blossom and Sannong means repeating the major melody for 3 times. The music can be dated back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420). ![]() Mei Hua San Nong a traditional Chinese music. It vividly depicts the pleasant lake and mountain view in the sunset and the scene of fishermen rushing to home while singing beautiful songs on fishing boat. The piece of music opened a new era of Guzheng music. The well-known Guzheng music Yu Zhou Chang Wan (English name: Evening Songs on the Fishing Boat ) was created by Lou Shuhua between 1938-1939. For this reason, Gao Shan Liu Shui or High Mountain and Flowing Water in English, symbolizes cherished friendship in Chinese culture. When Zhong died, Yu smashed his Guqin as he thought nobody could understand his music again. The two soon became good friends since then. Yu realized that the man could understand him and share his thoughts. To his surprise, a woodman named Zhong Ziqi could understand that he was depicting the magnificence of high mountains and the vigor of running water. It is simple, safe, and worth of application in clinic. There is a legend about this music, Yu Boya, a guqin master during the Spring and Autumn Period (722 BC-481 BC), once played Guqin (a traditional Chinese instrument) in the wild land. Nasal endoscope-guided CNB is the direct approach with a short distance in the tissue before reaching the tumor. Materials and Methods: From April 2009 to March 2016, after conventional white-light and novel narrow-band imaging, nasal endoscope-guided core needle biopsy (CNB) were performed on 15 cases of nonexophytic nasopharyngeal lesion with a semiautomatic biopsy gun.Ĭonclusions: CNB is able to get adequate biopsy specimens and thus the diagnosis accuracy of CNB is high for NE-NPC. The pain score during CNB were between 2 and 7 (mean 4.20). The bleeding quantity during the CNB procedure ranged from 1 to 5 ml (mean 1.93 mL). The histopathological diagnosis was consistent with the follow-up visit. There were 5 cases of primary and 7 cases of recurrent NE-NPC, and 3 cases of inflammatory lesion.
